TRAVELING
EXHIBITIONS
We
have a Traveling
exhibit that is affordable and easy to transport, install,
and de-install. Our exhibit is designed to accommodate limited
environmental and security resources at your venue. The Maasai
Art Exhibit comes in two sets, The Maasai Bridal Collection and
the general collection, which is comprised of household items,
Bridal Collection, elders’ collection, and the Warriors’
Collection. The collections are developed in collaboration with
the Maasai of Kenya. The elaborated art exhibit tells vivid stories
of Maasai indigenous people and their natural world.
Although
the Maasai are familiar to most people, many are unaware that
Maasai society is made up of sixteen sections Iloshon such as
Ildamat, Ilpurko, ILkeekonyokie, Iloitai, Ilkaputiei, Ilkankere,
Isiria, Ilmoitanik, Iloodokilani, Iloitokitoki, Ilarusa, Ilmatatapato,
Ilwuasi-nkishu, Kore, Ilparakuyu, and Ilkisonko, also known as
Isikirari (Tanzania's Maasai).
Each
section is slightly and uniquely different from one another. The
dialects are similar but not totally the same. Each section uses
the language and customs to define their territory. Maasai Association
has a plan to interview members from each section and bring their
stories to Maasai Cultural Art Museum.
